1571:William Starts School Sumary

At the age of seven, boys normally attended grammar school. William Shakespeare could have begun his tuition at home. In the sixteenth-century, oral learning was common because books were not common. Tudor England during this time was one of the most literate places in the world. A typical school day started at 5 a.m. William learned to think between two dominate religions because of circumstance. Shakespeare had to quit school early and never went to University, but he never ceased to learn.

Lives by Plutarch

Plutarch:

Plutarch is quoted as "One of the great ambassadors between the ancient world and the modern one." He was born to a prominent Greek family in the early days of Rome. He was best know for his biographies of leading figures as well as his essays on ethics and virtues. Plutarch also ran a school of philosophy. He produced an extensive body of writing while leading an active social and civic life. His work was revered in its own time. Was admired by Ralph Waldo Emerson, but his opularity began to decline in the 19th century.

Historical Importance

Plutarch's "Life" has influenced history by giving us many historical views on ancient figures and by influencing many famous authors, including William Shakespeare. I think it influenced Shakespeare because it was a historic acount of people, so it would tell of their flaws. This could influence him because it shows fatal flaws in conquers, kings, and queens.

Influences to our Generation

One book trilogy that influences our generation is The Hunger Games. Movies that have influenced our culture are superhero movies i.e. Batman, The Avengers, X-Men, and Spiderman. Fashion magazines influence how we think we should look and reality shows how we should act.
